Jaan-E-Mann

Jaan-E-Mann was a triangular love story. Salman Khan, Preity Zinta and Akshay Kumar played the lead roles for this movie. Director Sirish Kunder gave feel good movie in his first attempt only.

Suhaan (Salman Khan) hides about his love marriage for his filmy career sake. But when he fails to have successful career, he returns to home and notices that his wife Piya left him. He finds Piya (Preity Zinta) address and sends many letters, but she never responds and suddenly she sends divorce papers. Piya asks him to pay 500 million rupees as alimony with divorces.

Suhaan asks his uncle Boney (Anupam Kher)’s suggestion. At the same time Agastya (Akshay Kumar) enters into the scene, who loved Piya in his college days. Boney and Suhaan plans to bring Piya and Agastya together to escape from alimony paying. They succeeds to in their attempt, but their the movie takes a interesting turn. Suhaan interests to be with Piya after watching their daughter Suhaani. At the same time Agastya also notices Piya’s interest towards Suhaan. Suhaan and Piya reunites at last.

This movie opened with weak openings, but with first day first show movie got a super hit talk and it was declared as a block buster. Due the tough competition from Shah Rukh Khan‘s Don- The Chase Begins and Diwali celebrations, movie failed utterly to receive good collections.

Veer Zaara

Veer Zaara is a very good love story narrated and directed by Bollywood legendary personality Yash Chopra. This movie went on to collect the highest gross for that year. Movie was well received by Pakistan people also. This movie helped to spread the Bollywood market in Pakistan.

Veer (Shah Rukh Khan) is a sincere Indian Air Force Officer. One day he watches a bus accident and protects a girl Zaara (Preity Zinta) who came to India from Pakistan. Actually she came to mix her governess’ ashes in Indian rivers. With his help she completes that work. Veer falls in love with for Zaara.

After reaching Pakistan she realises that she is in love with Veer. Veer travels to Pakistan to meet Zaara. But Zaara’s mother refuses to let them meet. The Pakistani police catch him and imprison him on false cases.

22 years later a lawyer Saamiya (Rani Mukherji) attempts to release Veer from prison. To prove his real identity she flies to India. She is shocked after watching Zaara there who has been with Veer’s parents (Amitabh Bachchan and Hema Malini) for 22 years.

With the help of Saamiya and Zaara, Veer comes out and returns back to India. This movie did a really good job in overseas market. It is successful movie in Canada, USA and UK also.

Salaam Namaste

Salaam Namaste is one of the biggest movies in 2005. Sidharth Anand made his debut with this movie .

Aidtya Chopra produced this movie on their own banner Yash Raj Films. Saif Ali Khan and Preity Zinta paired in this movie. Most of the movie moves in Australia.

This is a completely youth movie. The people who believe Indian culture never invites this type of stories.

The plot is a simple story: love- differences- reconcile. But director gave a modern touch to the film and took it to Australia. Preity Zinta features as a R.J and Saif Ali Khan as a Chef.

Jugal Hansraj, Abhishek Bachchan, Ness Wadia and Sidharth Anand add their cameo appearences in the movie. Vishal Shekar‘s music rocked the audience.

Kal Ho Naa Ho

Kal Ho Naa Ho is a sadly ending triangular love story. Unlike South Indian film industries like Kollywood and Tollywood, Bollywood people enjoy negative endings also. Nikhil Advani who recently directed Chandini Chowk To China with Akshay Kumar, directed this movie also.

Unlike other negative ending love stories this movie runs with good energetic scenes. Aman (Shah Rukh Khan) is a patient whose life span is very limited. His nature impresses his neighbour Naina (Preity Zinta) who proposes to him.

He never reveals about his disease to her. He simply lies he is married already. He convinces her to love her classmate Rohit (Saif Ali Khan) who has some strong feelings for her from many years.

The movie was shot in New York and Toronto. Nikhil Advani first kept Kareena Kapoor in his mind for the Naina character.

Shankar-Eshan-Loy‘s music for Javed Aktar lyrics received huge response. The song It’s The Time To Disco was used by many dancers for stage shows and dance competitions in India.
